Paris: National Marine Museum re-opens its doors

After many years under renovation, the National Marine Museum re-opened its doors to the public on 17th November 2023. Driven by its maritime heritage, the House of Breguet is a patron of the museum, supporting the gallery devoted to sea navigation. To illustrate the major role played by A-L. Breguet - who was appointed Horloger de la Marine Royale by Louis XVIII - the museum presents the Marine chronometer N°5072 manufactured in 1817-1818. Long before the invention of modern navigation systems, such instruments served to calculate a ship's position and thereby lead an entire fleet.
