パリに生まれたフランスの作家アンリ・ミュルジュ（1822年-1861年）は、1848年に『ボヘミアン生活社の情景』を出版しました。この小説は瞬く間に成功を収め、1951年に舞台化。後にジャコモ・プッチーニに影響を与え、1896年にオペラの名作『ラ・ボエーム』が誕生しました。
